2nd update is a big one! Everything listed in the first post is sold out! I didn't even get into the door to the show before selling completely everything. I even had a few BAD CHOICE demo tapes kicking around that ended up selling in a heartbeat. Anyway here is a small chunk of what I have right now. Ill be at the show on Sunday at SIESTA NOUVEUX with WICCANS and NO PROBLEM. I'll have a real distro this time!
PYGMY SHREWS "You People Can Go Straight To Hell" 12" [Jack Shack]
- Snotty, mean-spirited Male/Female vocals with driving guitars. Put out a fantastic LP on Wantage a few years ago. I highly recommend you pick this up. Limited to 500 hand numbered. [LISTEN]
PAMPERS - S/T 7" [Jack Shack]
- Reverbin' punks with marbles. Stripped down punk similar to THE SPITS or even THE RAMONES I can't find any info on this band other then what is on their label's site. Limited to 322 hand numbered [LISTEN]
LADY PISS - STREAMING EP 12" [Sympathizer]
- 90's aggro post-punk which would fit the AMREP roster real well. A little bit more on the tuneful side then most noise rock bands. Members of: Dactyl, The Wayward, Fight Amp and more. [LISTEN]
HUNGER PAINS - S/T 7" [Feeble Minds/PRGNT]
- "Vinyl debut from Assault City's metallic crust 'core HUNGER PAINS. Features guitar work akin to classic metal-tinged Japanese hardcore coupled with the thunderous rhythm of 90's vegan crust, all backed with thickly layered dissonance courtesy of front-man Weston Czerkies' solo noise project SUNKEN CHEEK." [LISTEN]
MILK MUSIC "BEYOND LIVING" 12" [Perennial]
- If you don't have this yet.. why? This is the re-press that Perennial did after the band released version went Out Of Press. One of the best EP/LP's of the year and one of the best new live bands. Can't wait to hear more tunes from this three piece. FFO: Husker Du, Dinosaur Jr, Wipers. [LISTEN]
BROKEN WATER "WHET (TRIANGLE)" 12" [Perennial]
- Debut LP that has been RE-PRESSED on Perennial. Word on the street that the original label got sketchy and didn't send out records to people who mailordered. Fear not, I have a small amount of copies for your consumption. "Distorted, sludgy 90's-sounding rock & roll that sounds to me like Dinosaur Jr meets The Swirlies." Have a [LISTEN]
BROKEN WATER "PERIPHERAL STAR" EP 12" [Perennial]
- The latest release from the 3 piece. Very Swirlies sounding on this one. Both records are fantastic. [LISTEN]
THE GARY "EL CAMINO" EP 12" [Ceder Fever]
- "Much like NYC's Career Club, The Gary are a throwback to the early '80s arty post-punk, particularly the pre-reunion work of Mission Of Burma." Recorded by Steve Albini at his electrical audio studio in Chicago. [LISTEN]
VOGUE "POMPSHIT" 12" [Hardware]
- It's a small number of bands these days that actually write some witty lyrics. Or non PC. Either way this band is stirring the pot. 90's Boston hardcore by the way of Denmark. EURO IMPORT, Colour copies out of 250. [LISTEN]
OMEGAS "BLAST OF LUNACY" 12" [Hardware]
- Euro Press of one of the best LP's this year. I can't say enough good things about this record. I got a few copies on Green and White and a small amount on Black. This is worth owning multiple copies of. EURO IMPORT! These were not available to the USA. Colour copies will be sold at random.
ANNOTATIONS 7" [Hardware]
- Rippin Rock N Roll hardcore from Germany. I've been really impressed with everything Hardware has been putting out recently, and this does not disappoint! Check out these tunes.. [LISTEN]
WICCANS "SKULLDUGGERY" 12" [Katorga Works]
- KBD-style punk, from Austin TX. Yeah I'll have these at the show their playing, in which you should buy from the band. If you're unable to make it out, I'll probably still have these, or maybe not.. who knows. [LISTEN]
and a little something from Chris Colohan/High Anxiety himself (last copies of his stash):
MATURE SITUATIONS "Old Hands" 7"
BURNING LOVE Demo 7"
NIGHTBRINGER S/T 7"
EATING GLASS 7" (CC'S LAST COPY EVER! Only 1!)
CITY LIMITS CASSETTE (LTD 200)
and I have a small restock of CREEM 7"s. So If you didn't get one the first time, act fast or you'll be checkin ebay (actually.. band might be breaking up soon..). I'll also I'll have the long sold out CREEM DEMO and the RATIONAL ANIMALS LP at the Rational Animals/Raw Nerve show on TUESDAY JULY 19TH. These won't last long at all, first come, first serve. I'm going to say this now, no record will ever be more than 15 dollars. If I ever do this, it's because the wholesale cost and shipping exceeds that pricing. I will do this for the kids as long as you keep buying. I really appreciate it in end. You make your scene. See you at these shows.
